Information about me:
Hi I guess, my name is Daniel. I am, or strive to be, a very empathetic and kind person in any sort of way I feasibly can. I have a great love of fictional writing, poetry, and all around anything that can help me have an escape from this worlds constant conflicts and problems. Last year I went through all sorts of difficult events to deal with, my Grandfather dying, my dog dying, and me being diagnosed with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder), to name a few, 2021 was most certainly a difficult year for a lot of folks so I hope this year will be better. Something I personally believe in is that, the only times we make a true mistake is when we don't learn something from it. I am a very introverted person so I don't exactly interact with people much, besides those I am close to, to the point where I feel like I might even be afraid of social interaction, I honestly don't know. Anyway here I am I'm a nerd and a Creative Writing Major who's scared of being judged by other people...Hi...
Prior Educational Experience with Technology:
I don't really have much prior experience with technology in an educational setting. The main one I had was in my freshman year of high school I took a class called Computers College and Career, which really was a fancy way of saying we're gonna teach you how to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. For this class you were essentially given a list of tasks you had to do while the teacher did whatever, or helped you when you asked for it. After you completed all of the tasks for each tool you were done with the course and could just play computer games the whole class, and since I finished the tasks almost halfway through the year I had half a year of goofing off to promptly forget what I learned...great class. Apart from that I have the usual experience of using Canvas and having to submit assignments online and stuff.
My Personal Learning Networks:
To support my needs and goals online I have a few different resources, or in this case networks. My most important one being my friends, who I mostly communicate with virtually due to us being in a variety of different locations, who are always there for me if I need advice on how to handle an issue or simply need some emotional support. To support my needs and goals offline I have the entirety of FSU. More specifically I have access to a wide variety of resources as a student of FSU whether I need emotional help, I can go to or call the counseling center, or academic help, I can speak with the teacher of the class. I am very thankful to be able to access these resources.
Daniel, my heartfelt condolences on your loss. I also wish that everyone has a better and prosperous year this year. I'm delighted you have such a great passion for creative writing and are continuing to develop this skill in your degree. I believe that your introverted personalities are a great asset to your writing, which is something I have learned from many great authors I admire :)
ReplyDeleteI have been reading (more accurately, listening) Amy Tan's memoir, in which she discussed creative writing and the sources of her inspiration for writing (and of course, her stories). If you're interested, I'd recommend it :)
