Copyright and Fair Use:
Copyright is essentially making something yours and declaring no one else may use it without paying for it in some form or capacity. Thankfully teachers are allowed to use things such as books or music, so as long as they aren't declaring them as their own creations. Fair Use is essentially the ability to use a portion of a copyrighted piece for limited use, so as long as the original work isn't altered. Things can be used under Fair Use can be used by teachers because they are using it to teach and promote knowledge.
Cyberbullying and Academic Dishonesty:
Cyberbullying has become a common occurrence within the classroom, and schools as a whole, where students can be harassed and bullied by their fellow peers outside of the classroom where it may seem the school has no jurisdiction. While a teacher may not have jurisdiction outside of the classroom they can make it to where students who are being cyberbullied feel safe within their classroom and able to talk with the teacher about their problems and the teacher can attempt to propose a solution. Academic Dishonesty is another issue a teacher may have issues in dealing with, as it involves things such as cheating and plagiarism. When it comes to dealing with cheating, which is primarily done over online tests, a teacher can use a system called Honor Lock which monitors a students space and computer during the time the test is being taken, as for plagiarism there is Turnitin which goes through an entire writing piece and makes sure nothing has been wrongfully taken or plagiarized.
New Acquired Skills from Newsletter Assignment:
I have not really earned any new skills, to my knowledge. However I most definitely had a fun time trying to work out and do the newsletter assignment. It was certainly the most intricate, but also straight forward, assignment that promoted creativity that I have had to do in a while. This assignment was a nice break from all the other ones I have been having to do, and it was nice to be able to use a creative mind set.
